My mother will fondly tell anyone who listens the story of my first job.

As a toddler I would shake my baby’s blanket with all my might and watch as it fell smoothly onto the floor; over and over until not a single wrinkle or fold could be seen. Next…oh so carefully…I would wrap my baby doll tightly in the most perfect swaddle. My baby safe and perfect, I’d gaze with love for a moment, only to start all over again moments later. My mother’s face glows when she speaks of how seriously I took my duty.

Caring for other’s has always been part of who I am.

My first actual job was in a church preschool, where I fell in love with children and enjoyed the close bonds I made with their families. From there I’ve been a part of babysitting agencies, home preschools, daycare centers, before and after school programs, summer groups, sports camps and have nannied for many families over the years.

I have always been drawn to work that empowers and uplifts others. In college I earned a degree in Exercise Science and found great joy helping people reach their nutrition and fitness goals though personal training, kickboxing, powerlifting, kettle bells, pilates, and yoga. I am able to design exercise and nutrition plans, and am certified as an Activity Director to work with the elderly. I have taught fitness and nutrition to all ages.

In 2017 I married a fantastic man, Benjamin, who is an amazing cook. In 2018 we moved to from my hometown of Portland to Bend and we absolutely love it here.

In my all my varying positions I was able to form a connection with families. Then all of a sudden they would be gone on maternity leave, and came back a few months later with their new baby in tow. I always felt like there was a portion missing. After becoming so close with these families, I didn’t want to miss such a special time and wished I could be there to help during and immediately after. I could see how tired and overwhelmed the parents were. Often they would confide in me traumas of the labor, or about fighting “ the baby blues”. I knew there must be some way I could help fill this void.

Discovering Doula work after my move to Bend in 2018 gave me the missing link! I can now be there to support families before, during, and after the addition of a new family member. I love supporting all types of birth through educational, emotional and physical support. I especially enjoy siblings that show an interest, as I think it’s so important to normalize birth for next generation as something to cherish, rather then fear. I am confident in my ability to help your newborn learn healthy sleeping habits without the use of traumatic “cry it out” techniques. I also enjoy supporting the family through meal prep using whole foods, creating easy to replicate, healthy meals. Soups, broths, and warm teas are especially useful in the postpartum period. I am happy to provide light house work, and am here to be an open ear as you process your birth and adjust to life as a larger family.

I am open about my journey with infertility and miscarriages, another topic I support clients through. In 2021 we welcomed our son, Declan, into the world. He has brought so much joy to our lives. We hike, hunt, fish, camp, and travel with our dog when we have time.

I also realize that not all family’s are created through birth. I have supported many families through the process of receiving a new child through surrogacy or adoption.

I love all the connections I have made in Central Oregon and truly enjoy the variety in all the different supportive rolls I find myself filling for various clients.
